Our Promise to You
Since ("we", "our", or "the app") is built for people on deeply personal journeys. We understand that your recovery data is among the most sensitive information you have. That's why we built Since with privacy at its core.
- Your data stays on your device and in your personal iCloud -- nowhere else
- We cannot see your data. We don't want to.
- Zero analytics. Zero tracking. Zero third-party data services.
- We never sell or share any information, period
- All payments are processed securely by Apple
- No one -- not us, not advertisers, not anyone -- will ever know what you're tracking
Information We Collect
Since collects and stores the following types of information locally on your device:
🔥 Tracker Data
The sobriety trackers, streak counters, and milestones you create within the app. This includes:
- Tracker titles and start dates
- Custom icons and colors
- Milestone progress and celebrations
- Notification preferences for each tracker
⚙️ App Settings
Your preferences and customization choices, including:
- Widget configurations
- Notification settings
- Theme and display preferences
- Quote category preferences
💳 Purchase Information
If you subscribe to Since Premium or purchase the Lifetime plan:
- Apple handles all payment processing securely
- We only receive confirmation of your subscription status
- We do not have access to your payment details
How We Use Your Information
We use your information exclusively to provide the app's functionality on your device:
- Tracking: Display your day counts, calculate streaks, and track milestones
- Daily Quotes: Show relevant motivational quotes based on your journey
- iCloud Sync: Sync your data across your devices (controlled by your iCloud settings)
- Notifications: Send local milestone celebrations and daily reminders (with your permission)
- Widgets: Display your progress on Home Screen, Lock Screen, and StandBy
- Apple Watch: Display complications and sync trackers to your watch
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in the following locations:
Local Storage
All tracker data is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is protected by your device's security features including encryption and sandboxing.
iCloud Storage
If you have iCloud enabled, your data syncs using Apple's CloudKit. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored in your personal iCloud account that only you can access.
Your Data, Your Control
We have zero access to your iCloud data. Apple's CloudKit architecture means your data goes directly from your device to your iCloud -- we are never in the middle.
Data Sharing
We take your privacy seriously -- especially given the sensitive nature of recovery data:
- We do not sell your personal information to any third parties
- We do not share your tracker data with anyone -- ever
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services
- We do not collect usage data, device identifiers, or behavioral data
- Your data remains on your device and in your personal iCloud account
The only "sharing" occurs when you explicitly choose to share a milestone image via the Share feature, which uses your device's native share sheet.
Analytics & Tracking
No Tracking. Period. Since does not collect analytics or tracking data. We do not use any third-party analytics services, advertising SDKs, or user tracking tools. We don't know how many people use our app, what they track, or anything else. Your usage is completely private.
Third-Party Services
Since integrates only with Apple's own services:
- iCloud/CloudKit: For data synchronization (controlled by your iCloud settings)
- App Store/StoreKit: For processing subscriptions and purchases
- Apple Push Notifications: For local milestone reminders
- WidgetKit: For Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets
These services are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. No other third-party services are used.
Children's Privacy
Since does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided personal information should contact us to have it removed.
Your Rights & Choices
You have full control over your data:
Delete Data
Delete individual trackers or all data by uninstalling the app
Export Data
Export your trackers for backup or personal records
Control Sync
Enable or disable iCloud sync in your device settings
Manage Notifications
Control all notifications in Settings > Since
International Users
Since is available worldwide. Your data is processed and stored according to Apple's data residency policies for iCloud. For users in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR including data access, rectification, and erasure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- For significant changes, we may notify you within the app
- Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance
